Children's consignments.... OPTIMIZED!
Max & Lily's Consignment Policy
Please read carefully — our policy has recently been updated.
⸻
Consignment Days
We accept consignments Tuesday through Friday.
We no longer review or accept items on weekends.
If you have extenuating circumstances and cannot come during weekday hours, please reach out — we may be able to accommodate you.
We use weekends to reset the store, get inventory out, and keep everything running smoothly. At times, we may need to pause or limit consignments to specific categories (for example: toys, winter outerwear, or holiday items). If this happens, we will update this information on our home page and send a text alert.
Please be sure you are signed up for our loyalty program by checking in with your phone number on our in-store tablet so you never miss important updates.
⸻
Seasonal Items
We accept all seasons year-round. Off-season items are stored until the appropriate season begins, and your 2-month consignment period starts when items are most in demand.
⸻
What We Accept
We accept children’s clothing, shoes, toys, books, and more (newborn through teen), as well as maternity wear. Items should be clean, current in style, brand-name, and in excellent, like-new condition.
We’re able to review larger drop-offs when items are gently used and prepared with care. Items that have been stored for many years, look outdated, or arrive in mixed, unsorted bins are usually not a good match for our shop and often cannot be accepted. A little preparation at home helps us move efficiently and gives us the best chance of saying “yes” to as much as possible.
Please bring items in reusable bags, boxes, or bins — not garbage bags.
We also accept select baby gear purchased new within the last 3 years; strollers may be older but must be in excellent condition. For safety and compliance reasons, we cannot accept items a baby can sleep or lie in — such as bassinets, cribs, pack & plays, sleep loungers, or similar products — unless they are brand new in the original, unopened packaging. This same rule applies to car seats and bases.
⸻
Sorting, Pricing & Payouts
After the initial sort, items receive a second review for stains, wear, or defects, and are then sorted by season. Accepted items are itemized, tagged, and dated for a 2-month consignment period that begins when the items are most in demand.
Consignors earn 40% of the sale price, which may be used in-store or cashed out via check, PayPal, or Zelle. Balances never expire.
⸻
Unsold Items
You have a 2-week grace period after your consignment period ends to collect any unsold items. After that time, items may be donated or sold during clearance without compensation.
